Storytelling to save the ocean

We are proud to announce that Icelandic author, filmmaker, and environmental activist Andri Snær Magnason will be a part of this year's SOS Summit.
Andri Snær Magnason, born in Reykjavík on July 14, 1973, is one of Iceland’s most celebrated writers. His work spans nearly every genre from poetry, nonfiction, children’s books, science fiction, theater, documentary filmmaking, and environmental activism.

He is the only writer to have won the Icelandic Literary Award in all categories, in addition to prestigious international prizes in the USA, Italy, France, and the UK. Andri is widely known for writing the memorial text for Ok Glacier, Iceland’s first glacier lost to climate change. His most recent book, On Time and Water, has been translated into more than 30 languages.
Throughout his career, Andri has collaborated with world-renowned artists including Yo-Yo Ma, The Kronos Quartet, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Björk, as well as architects Bjarke Ingels Group and SAP Architects. He lives in Reykjavík with his wife and four children.
